BACK TO BUNGALOW

13. This photograph visually captures the upstairs master bedroom. As with the main floor, the importance of balance between light and dark was critical to the success of this space. The light walls and ceiling achieve a sense of brightness and light while the African mahogany trims & casework and the Brazilian cherry floors bring a wonderful feeling of warmth and comfort. The vaulted ceiling with flat batten trim and fan capture the sensibilities of island living while expressing a real sense sophistication. The grille work seen in the vaulted ceiling is an actual vent used to passively cool the vaulted ceiling with external ‘solar vents’.
